Every stage of your product,
developed under one roof.
With our in-house designers, engineers, and machinists working together from day one, issues get fixed in CAD - not discovered in production, so you get your product shipped without compromising your vision, or timeline.
Testing and validation
Measurement & instrumentation equipment for inspection, validation and reverse engineering.
We have extensive in-house testing capabilities, including optical and environmental tests, simulation software, and precision measurement tools. Our equipment covers electrical, mechanical, and environmental checks—such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, ESD compliance, RF analysis, and IP-rating.

Simulation Software
Powerful data-driven visualization helps us evaluate and improve product performance while minimizing costly prototyping.

CFD Thermal Simulation
For Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), we rely on Siemens FloEFD. This software allows us to simulate fluid flow and heat transfer—critical for industries such as aerospace, automotive, energy, and HVAC. FloEFD’s Immersed Boundary Cartesian Meshing technique streamlines the simulation process, minimizing calculation errors and eliminating the lengthy body-conformal mesh setup required by many other CFD programs.
FEA Structural Simulation
We use Siemens Simcenter Femap for both pre-processing and post-processing in Finite Element Analysis (FEA). This enables us to simulate the structural, thermal, and dynamic behavior of complex products. Detailed FEA models created in Femap are then analyzed using solvers like Nastran.
By visualizing these results, we reduce the number of physical prototypes and accelerate development cycles.

Mechanical Engineering Tests:
Tensile test
A tensile test (also called a pull test) helps determine how materials behave under a pulling (tensile) force.
Our Mark 10 motorized force testing machine has a range of up to 500lbs of force for pulling material on a single plane.
Torque Break
Test A torque test applies rotational forces on a fastener (such as a bolt, screw, or nut) to evaluate performance under twisting until failure or breakage. A Mark 10 motorized force testing machine, capable of applying up to 100lbs of force, is used for this procedure.

IPX7 Water Column Test
A one-meter water column designed for testing small products to IPX7 standards. The test involves submerging and analysis to verify they are completely sealed and can withstand temporary immersion in water.
CMM and first article inspection (FAI)
A Nikon CMM with the Renishaw PH20 five-axis indexing head is used for performing first article inspection. Our measurement and FAI reports are formatted AS9100.
Reverse Engineering
A EinScan multifunctional handheld 3D scanner gives us highly detailed, fully automated turntable scans for parts up to the size of a basketball. This enables us to capture existing products and chart a course to remanufacturing.
Custom Tests
Test and Measurement Systems
We build our own test and measurement systems for custom products we are working on as part of our vertically integrated product development process.
Sherpa is always acquiring new tests and expanding expertise. If you see testing missing here that you might need for your product development journey, reach out and let us know.
Early identification of required certifications for different markets helps us plan testing and find outside vendors for anything we don’t carry in-house.
